God save the wild eyed wanderer
Who knows no where he goes.
He travels by the sound of water in the skies.
He hath in his minds eye
A vision when it snows
Of warmer things and smiling dreams
That keep him moving on.
---
Sanity
Be thy unrest
A bit and parcel
Of the whole
I'll love you once
And once again
Though madness told
It yet to be
I've heard this makes
But little sense
Madman and the sage
Both brought in effect
Light of night
And kindly fears
Daylights edge
Is washed away
Keep thine mouth shut
Keep thine eyes wide
And we'll rise above
The forgotten tide
---
Be thine unrested powers
At the hands of patience be
Mayhap the willow and the wasp
Lie 'neath the butter tree
For all that's told been done
And mayhem's on the tounge
Let us rally with the young
And slide backwards down the rung
Natality or causalty
Freedom's not so new
A yet unwilling witness
To the cobra and the yew
